The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, German international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. As an accredited ‘Excellent German School Abroad’, the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates. Our European Section offers tuition in English for students from grade 1 - 12 across all three IB programmes (the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma Programme) as an authorised IB World School. Children aged 18 months onwards can enroll in our Preschool where children are following the PYP programme in German-speaking, English-speaking or bilingual groups. In addition to an outstanding academic education, GESS strives to teach students community values such as respect, openness and inclusion. Currently, more than 1800 students are learning at GESS supported by more than 400 full time and part time academic and administrative staff members. In August 2018 GESS moved to Dairy Farm Road to a modern new school campus located in a popular residential area at the edge of Singapore’s largest nature reserve and with very good access to the public transport system.

Role: A key administrative position managing and processing new student applications
  • This will involve a mixture of email / telephone and face-to-face communication with parents and liaising with Academic departments.
  • You will work independently to manage student applications and ensure that applications are processed in a timely manner.
  • As you will be dealing with parents that are new to Singapore as well as young children and teenagers, a friendly and customer service orientated personality is required for this position.
  • This is a full-time role and the candidate will be required to work during school holidays
  • Manage new student applications
  • Complete student applications within stipulated timeframes
  • Contact parents in a timely and professional manner
  • Student enrolment follow up with families
  • Answer admissions hotline
  • Administer student database
  • Assist with school promotional events
  • Provide cover within the Admissions department
  • Previous administration experience ideally with customer facing experience
  • Customer focused attitude
  • Proficient spoken and written English
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Database/CRM systems)
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks independently
  • Able to start within one month of acceptance of employment offer
  • Able to work during school holidays
  • Previous experience of working parents and/or children preferred
  • Previous experience of working within the education sector
  • A second or third language would be a distinct advantage
