The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, German international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. As an accredited ‘Excellent German School Abroad’, the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates. Our European Section offers tuition in English for students from grade 1 - 12 across all three IB programmes (the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma Programme) as an authorised IB World School. Children aged 18 months onwards can enroll in our Preschool where children are following the PYP programme in German-speaking, English-speaking or bilingual groups. In addition to an outstanding academic education, GESS strives to teach students community values such as respect, openness and inclusion. Currently, more than 1600 students are learning at GESS supported by more than 400 full time and part time academic and administrative staff members. In August 2018 GESS moved to Dairy Farm Road to a modern new school campus located in a popular residential area at the edge of Singapore’s largest nature reserve and with very good access to the public transport system.

The primary role is to design, develop and implement a Quality Assurance Framework at GESS by functioning as the central management point to oversee all policies, procedures, and forms for the school. The outcome is to improve operational efficiency of the organization to minimize risk to the school while working towards improving customer experience for internal and external stakeholders.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Controlled Document Environment to securely act as the ‘Single Source of Truth’ for all approved policies, procedures and forms (PPF) for GESS
  • Create and manage standardized templates for PPF in the school
  • Act as the control checkpoint for any changes in PPF by establishing standardized procedures to facilitate changes
  • Complete overview and understanding of all approved school PPF and ensure submitted reviews do not conflict with existing PPF
  • Maintain and disseminate communication to relevant stakeholders of any approved changes in PPF that may impact operational readiness
  • Keep track of all ongoing draft processes and create process to remind relevant stakeholders and contributors to complete outstanding tasks
  • Formalize an annual review process to ensure all PPF reflect current approved practices and/or updates
  • Prepare policies for necessary sub-com, SMT, BOG approvals in a timely method
  • Present conflicts, improvement suggestions and overview of policies to SMT and BOG as and when required
  • Other duties which includes the development, management and administration of staff satisfaction surveys, parent satisfaction survey, annual internal review of processes, management of feedback, maintaining quality assurance documentation and supporting data protection officer to ensure PDPA regulations are met
Requirements:
  • Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of five years experience in a similar capacity
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills and experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented, multi-cultural environment
  • Able to work independently and remain flexible, work collaboratively and as part of a team, customer-oriented and adaptable
  • Knowledge of the German language would be advantageous as you may liaise with German and English speaking colleagues, students and parents
