The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. GESS provides international education to more than 1,600 students of more than 50 nationalities from Pre-School to Grade 12. Since its foundation in 1971, the school has evolved into a school with two sections: as an authorised IB World School our European Section offers tuition in English for students from three years old to high school across all three IB programmes, the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma. As an accredited ‘Excellent German School Abroad’, the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates. GESS is a private school association led by an elected committee and the school management. Currently, more than 400 full and part-time staff are employed at the school.  In August 2018, GESS moved to a new site in central Singapore to a purpose built, brand new school campus.

We are seeking a Toddler and Pre-kindergarten Teaching Assistant age 18 months to 3 years old
(English Speaking classes)

  • To be enthusiastic and passionate when working with children, remaining alert and responsive to their needs and interests
  • To work in collaboration with the class teacher, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all children and families
  • To be responsible and accountable for the supervision of children in the Preschool at all times
  • Plan and prepare with the classroom teacher learning experiences which promote play, inquiry and cater for the holistic development of all children
  • To take responsibility of  the class group as and when required, working with individual and small groups of children, both spontaneously and in organsied learning experiences
  • Develop respectful and collaborative relationships with children, parents, colleagues and other members of the school community
  • Understand and work in accordance to the school policies and procedures
  • Be proficient in oral & written communication, have a good command of the English Language
  • Have an engaging and charismatic dispostion with a passion and talent to work with young children
  • Must have experience in teaching hands-on and inquiry lead approaches as well as in a play based curriculum
  • The ability to approach people in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Must demonstrate strong work ethics & possess a positive working attitude and be a great team player
