(44 hours/week)

The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, German international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. As an accredited ‘Excellent German School Abroad’, the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates. Our European Section offers tuition in English for students from grade 1 - 12 across all three IB programmes (the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma Programme) as an authorised IB World School. Children aged 18 months onwards can enroll in our Preschool where children are following the PYP programme in German-speaking, English-speaking or bilingual groups. In addition to an outstanding academic education, GESS strives to teach students community values such as respect, openness and inclusion. Currently, more than 1600 students are learning at GESS supported by more than 400 full time and part time academic and administrative staff members. In August 2018 GESS moved to Dairy Farm Road to a modern new school campus located in a popular residential area at the edge of Singapore’s largest nature reserve and with very good access to the public transport system.


Responsibilities:
 
  • Support / Assist the Facility Manager to oversee the day-to-day facilities operations
  • Participate in the inspection walkabouts and identify operational and maintenance/upkeep related issues
  • Coordination with other facilities team/supervisors and internal stakeholders
  • Manage vendors and ensure the work is done with respect to contractual agreements/SLA/KPI
  • Ensure the facilities meet government regulations and environmental health and security standards
  • Support major school events such as AGM, Christmas Bazaar, Summer Fest and other events.
  • Monitor the maintenance and upkeep of facilities and equipment to ensure smooth operation of the business and environment
  • Oversee ad-hoc projects which includes planning, scheduling and reporting project status
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure all building procedures and performance measures are maintained at all times
  • Coordination and management of the facilities usage
  • Allocates and manages facility space for maximum efficiency
  • Assist in the planning of furniture purchases and relocation
  • Assist with the access card registration and de-activation
  • Printing of School ID Cards
  • Update records of Parent ID card and Car Decal applications & issuance
  • Maintain and assist in the review of H&S requirements and records such as Risk Assessments, Fire Safety Audit, Crisis Management and others.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections
  • Any other task as assigned by the line manager 

Requirements:
  • Minimum Diploma with at least 1 to 3 years relevant working experience in similar role
  • Meticulous and team player
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment  
  • Strong organizational skills
