The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. At our two green campus locations GESS provides international education to 1,550 students of more than 50 nationalities from Pre-School to Grade 12. Since its foundation in 1971, the school has evolved into a school with two sections: as an authorised IB World School our European Section offers tuition in English for students from three years old to high school across all three IB programmes, the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma. As an accredited ‘Excellent German School Abroad’, the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates. GESS is a private school association led by an elected committee and the school management. Currently, more than 300 full and part-time staff are employed at the school.  In August 2018, GESS will move to a new site in central Singapore to a purpose built, brand new school campus.
 

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Front Desk Officer in executing below tasks
  • 1st point of contact at the school for students, staff, parents and visitors
  • Re-direction to contact partners, unless enquiry can be answered directly
  • Presentation of School as service-orientated organisation
  • With a customer service focus, proactively assist parents, students, staff and visitors to the school
  • Mail & message collection and distribution, incl. E-mail to info@gess.sg
  • Provide up to date, accurate school and campus information for parents; distribution of school information brochures
  • Overall responsibility for excellent presentation of the entire reception area
  • Distribution of forms to students, e.g. leave forms and event requests
  • Prepare and keep up-to-date folders, class lists and signs for emergency/fire drills
  • Issue exit passes to students according school policy
  • Assist with admissions related documentation and support activities as directed by the Director of Marketing and Admission
Requirements:
  • Minimum GCE 'O' Level with at least 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience in receptionist functions
  • Willing to work in shifts from 10:30am to 5:00pm (Monday-Friday)
  • Meticulous and team player
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills: Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to speak German would be an advantage (Not compulsory)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to start immediately
