The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. At our two green campus locations GESS provides international education to 1,550 students of more than 50 nationalities from Pre-School to Grade 12. Since its foundation in 1971, the school has evolved into a school with two sections: as an authorised IB World School our European Section offers tuition in English for students from three years old to high school across all three IB programmes, the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma. As an accredited ‘Excellent German School Abroad’, the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates. GESS is a private school association led by an elected committee and the school management. Currently, more than 300 full and part-time staff are employed at the school.  In August 2018, GESS will move to a new site in central Singapore to a purpose built, brand new school campus.

  • Actively acquire, implement and communicate support level plans to accommodate a successful IT Helpdesk Support Management
  • Provide assistance as an IT Helpdesk subject matter expert with full oversight on Campus IT Helpdesk
  • Actively provide level 2/3 technical and operational support for all aspects of IT domain and provide Counter, Telephone, Remote or Desk-side troubleshooting and support to users
  • Ensure proper turnover and escalation of all open support issues to meet above expectations of any service level agreements of the IT department
  • Actively troubleshoot escalated IT issues and proactively work with vendors and endeavor to solicit workable resolution in good time
  • Promote the usage of IT resources to school staff, author training documentation for staff
  • Monitor availability and performance for a successful IT Operations
  • Create and update support tickets
  • Maintain an active communication, provide status updates to rollouts and support issues
  • Maintain Service Desk knowledgebase, update IT Ticket KB and IT documentation
  • Author and update Setup, Tech and User documentation on systems/services that are being deployed
  • Actively maintain to upkeep and make current all inventory for devices, equipment, software and tools
  • Provide assistance to users including training, trouble-shooting and advice on acquisitions
  • Proactively work with inter/intra departments and other stakeholders for configuration/integration/implementation and other related works to sustain IT operations and to facilitate the launch of pilots or new initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
  • More than 2 years experience in similar environment within IT operations
  • Knowledge in networking and domain management, DNS, and wireless technology
  • Excellent spoken and written English language
  • Enthusiastic, punctual, take initiative and ownership of assigned tasks, fulfilling of tasks under time pressure and independent and a team player.
  • Ability to adjust to changing business requirements and make decisions with limited information rapidly
  • manage across multiple, often time-sensitive initiatives
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, leadership, and stakeholder service skills
  • Expert in IPad, Cisco/HP WLC, Cisco CUCM, Cisco Switches/Routers, Network Printers, Microsoft Windows/AD/Azure/Cloud/Sharepoint/Office 365, Veeam Backup, PowerShell, IT-Automation, VMWare ESXi/vCenter, Audio/Video/, Filewave, AppleTV, MacBook Pro, Surface Pro, Firewall.
