Mechanical & Electrical Specialist Technicians
Full Time 44 hours/week
commencing in March 2018
Location: Main Campus or Junior Campus

The GESS has strong European foundations and believes in developing confident, forward-looking students through a celebration of respect, openness and inclusiveness. GESS is recognised for its languages and offers a choice between two main curricula: the German Abitur or the English-speaking International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. The school caters to students of all ages, starting from 18 months to graduation at 18 years. GESS is a private school association led by an elected committee and the school management. Currently, more than 300 full and part-time staff are employed at the school. A new purpose-built campus with brand new facilities will open in August, 2018 at Dairy Farm Road.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring of installation, activities on site to ensure schedules and standards are adhered to
  • Daily routine check of M&E plant & equipment
  • Responsible for general electrical fitting work, including installation of electrical equipment, electrical panel, electrical cabling, cable conduits, connecting of cabling, termination etc.
  • Weekly and monthly maintenance of ACMV system
  • Carry out/ ensure routine & preventive maintenance services of M&E systems in accordance to plan/ master schedule
  • Manage and supervise contractors to perform maintenance/ repair/ replacement works
  • Conduct daily routine inspections to ensure all technical works comply with government regulations and contractual requirements
  • Conduct site inspections and data logging for critical M&E systems
  • Perform preliminary troubleshooting and rectification of M&E issues
  • To witness the testing and inspection of electrical installation where licensing and certification
  • Responsible to update all the service report, incident report within the timeline
  • To conduct regular M&E preventive maintenance checks of the systems of the projects assigned to ensure that they are in good working condition
  • To report and recommend the acceptance of the M&E works completed by contractors
  • Support the building services support team
  • Function as reliever technician when needed to support the building services team
  • Assist the Facilities Engineer in all administrative related matters
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Facility Engineer or Facility Supervisor
Requirements:
  • Minimum Diploma with at least 2 to 4 years of relevant working experience in similar role
  • Meticulous and team player
  • Able to work during weekends when required
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
