Educational Technology Coach (Secondary School)

The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. At our two green campus locations GESS provides international education to 1,550 students of more than 50 nationalities from Pre-School to Grade 12. Since its foundation in 1971, the school has evolved into a school with two sections: as an authorised IB World School our European Section offers tuition in English for students from three years old to high school across all three IB programmes, the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma. As an accredited ‘Excellent German School Abroad’, the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates. GESS is a private school association led by an elected committee and the school management. Currently, more than 300 full and part-time staff are employed at the school.  In August 2018, GESS will move to a new site in central Singapore to a purpose built, brand new school campus.

  • Serve as an educational technology leader within the Secondary Section
  • Support teachers in their use of technology in all learning activities, including planning, classroom support, and co-teaching
  • Deliver professional development activities directly related to the integrated use of technology in all content areas, including student demonstration projects, classroom demonstrations, team teaching, individual training, and workshops
  • Create a bank of resources and materials related technology use in schools
  • Assist with planning the design of the technology infrastructure so that information technology resources support the school’s mission and educational goals
  • Utilizing industry best practice and standards (ISTE)
  • Appropriate degree in teaching, technology, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated teaching experience, either as a classroom teacher, subject teacher, or a resource specialist
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Have strong skills in and passion for technology
  • Have excellent communication, teaching and interpersonal skills and enjoy working with students of all cultural backgrounds and from all grades
  • Be a team player who is able to create excitement in technology within the student body and build trust within the faculty.
